Foreign visitors praise Guiyang's tourism potential

Foreign guests explore the tourism industry in Guiyang during the 2019 ASEAN-China Belt and Road Culture and Tourism Exchange Week. [Photo/gog.cn]

During the 2019 ASEAN-China Belt and Road Culture and Tourism Exchange Week, which was held in Guiyang from Aug 29 to Sept 3, guests from ASEAN nations, as well as countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative visited featured travel routes in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The exchange week was designed to promote bilateral cooperation between Guiyang and ASEAN countries in developing tourist routes and souvenirs.

At Tianhetan scenic spot and Qingyan Ancient Town, the guests spoke highly of the natural scenery, ancient architecture, ethnic customs, and tourist commodities. They praised the potential of Guiyang's tourism resources, and said that they looked forward to future cooperation.

Tran Phong Binh, deputy director-general of the tourism marketing department of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, expressed fondness for Guiyang's cool weather, tourism infrastructure, high vegetation coverage, and delicious food.

For Togo's Klutse Messan Amakoe, this trip was his second time coming to Guiyang. He said that Guiyang was attractive to him as it was different from other Chinese cities.

Known as the summer resort of China, Guiyang has achieved significant growth in its tourism industry. With the opening of high speed railways connecting it to surrounding cities, Guiyang has become the transportation hub in Southwest China, offering options for airplane and high speed rail coordinated transport.
