Recent statistics released by Guiyang Customs reveal that from January to July this year, the total import and export value of Southwest China's Guizhou province reached 42.86 billion yuan ($5.87 billion), marking a year-on-year increase of 13.1 percent.
Among the province's nine cities and prefectures, the provincial capital of Guiyang led the way with a total import and export value of 33.6 billion yuan, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 15.5 percent. Both imports and exports in Guiyang saw increases exceeding 15 percent.
During the same period, the combined import and export value of Guiyang Free Trade Zone, Gui'an Free Trade Zone, and Zunyi Free Trade Zone amounted to 12.88 billion yuan, representing a collective year-on-year growth of 19.4 percent.
The data also shows that from January to July, Guizhou's trade with RCEP member countries reached a total value of 14.93 billion yuan, a significant year-on-year increase of 29 percent and accounting for over 30 percent of the province's total import and export value.
