This year, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have been stepping up efforts to further open up, leading to the creation of a new center for inland open economies and injecting robust momentum into the "Strengthening Provincial Capital" campaign.
By focusing on five major transportation corridors – aviation, railways, highways, waterways, and comprehensive routes – Guiyang and Gui'an are enhancing their infrastructure to accelerate Guizhou's integration with the global market.
As the two main gateways into Guiyang and Gui'an, the first quarter of this year saw Guiyang International Land Port and Qingzhen International Land Port handle a total of 5,126 trains and 241,600 metric tons of cargo, achieving 21 percent of the annual target of 1.15 million tons.

Meanwhile, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor operated 94 trains, marking a year-on-year increase of 324.16 percent.
Furthermore, from January to July this year, the Guiyang Free Trade Zone attracted over a dozen upstream and downstream enterprises in the used car export sector. It exported 1,074 vehicles exceeding 160 million yuan ($21.92 million) in value, mainly to markets in Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
Currently, the Guiyang Free Trade Zone is taking several measures to advance the construction of the China (Guiyang) Used Car Export Base, aiming to increase the volume of used car exports and support the high-quality development of Guiyang and Gui'an's open economy.
