The construction site of a computing industrial cluster support project in Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been bustling with activity as of late.
The project, which is a collaborative investment between Gui'an Development Group and China Electronics Corporation's subsidiary, CEC Optics Valley Holdings Limited, is nearly 25 percent complete and is a crucial component of Guizhou's efforts to accelerate the implementation of the "channeling computing resources from the east to the west" initiative.
It is divided into three zones: the initial zone, the development zone, and the expansion zone, covering a planned area of about 1,760 mu (117.33 hectares) and with a total investment of 13.85 billion yuan ($1.90 billion).
It integrates industrial and urban development, supported by computing power facilities and industries.
The development zone (Phase II) spans 183 mu and has an investment exceeding 7.8 billion yuan. It includes a cybersecurity and information technology innovation industrial base, a computing power center, centralized cooling facilities, and Gui'an New Area's computing power application platform.
