The "Gigabit Guizhou, Terabit Guiyang Action Plan (2024-25)" was recently released by the Guizhou Provincial Government. According to the plan, Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, will be the first city in China to achieve terabit-level connectivity.
The action plan specifies that by 2025, Guiyang's fiber optic network will support "terabit-to-home" and its mobile network will have terabit downlink capabilities, positioning its network access and coverage among the top in the nation.
Key tasks for building "terabit Guiyang" include pioneering the deployment of higher-speed access technologies such as 50G-PON in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area and developing terabit broadband applications to usher households and businesses into the terabit era.
The plan also focuses on enhancing computational power to establish a national computing base. This involves creating a diverse computing power supply system that integrates general, intelligent, super, and edge computing.
The construction of Huawei Cloud’s intelligent computing center, China Telecom’s intelligent computing center, and the ongoing development of the Gui'an data center cluster will be advanced.
Additionally, the plan aims to strengthen transport capacity for efficient data carriage and grow big data-related industries through various actions.
