The launch ceremony for a broiler chicken breeding project was held in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 16.
The event was hosted by Luo Xuxiang, the county's deputy mayor, addressed by He Ming, the county's mayor, and attended by Gan Zhaohui, deputy head of the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs.
The project involves a total investment of 7.75 million yuan ($1.08 million). Eighteen boiler chicken houses with standard environmental control systems will be set up, and 300,000 broiler chickens will be raised in the houses by the end of this year.
The project is expected to churn out 20 million broiler chickens worth 1 billion yuan by 2025.
