The 2023 Guangdong-Guizhou Industry Cooperation Conference was held in Shenzhen, a port city in South China's Guangdong province, on March 23.
At the conference, the Investment Promotion Bureau of Guizhou Province prepared 600 investment promotion projects, and planned to attract investment to the total of 382.90 billion yuan ($55.92 billion).
The projects that were prepared cover multiple industries, including new energy vehicles, battery materials, new energy, liquor, organic food, tea, pepper, traditional Chinese medicine, culture and tourism, big data electronic information, aerospace and equipment manufacturing, modern chemicals, health care services, modern logistics, textiles, cross-border e-commerce, and processing trade.
The conference saw 23 contracts inked worth a total amount of 49.31 billion yuan. The projects have been designated to the cities of Guiyang, Zunyi, Liupanshui, Anshun, Bijie, and Tongren, in Guizhou province; and Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, and Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, also in the province.
These contracted projects involve modern energy, big data electronic information, new energy vehicles, battery materials, modern commerce and trade, liquor, basic materials, tourism, modern chemicals, organic food, health and pharmaceutical industries.
In recent years, Guizhou has given full play to its advantages in policy, resources, ecology and location. It regards large-scale industrial investment as an important part of its high-quality development, so it has built several exchange and cooperation platforms, and optimized its business environment to attract more investment into the province.
Since the province launched its investment promotions in Guangdong, Guizhou has visited 12,327 target enterprises and chambers of commerce across the province, and has arranged for 1,615 Guangdong-based enterprises to visit Guizhou.
The city has also signed 1,804 formal investment contracts, of which 79 projects were for Fortune Global 500 enterprises, 49 projects were for listed enterprises, and nine projects were for unicorn enterprises.
In 2022, Guizhou introduced 1,804 industrial projects with contracts worth 367.04 billion yuan. Additionally, 145 projects by Guangdong-based enterprises have settled in Guizhou, with investment of 10.79 billion yuan.
This year, Guizhou plans to introduce over 1,600 excellent and strong enterprises.
