The Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province held a work session for economic work arrangements in the first quarter of the new year on Jan 11.
Data indicate that over the first three quarters of 2022, the new area had a GDP of 13.47 billion yuan ($1.99 billion) and ranked among the top three in the nation in terms of growth rate.
It is estimated that Guian will raise that figure to about 18 billion yuan in 2023, and maintain a growth rate of 10 percent.
The industrial and digital economy has become the major contributor to GDP growth, while the new area's information transmission, software and information technology service sectors are developing rapidly. Last year, a total of 58 project agreements were signed, including key industrial projects such as the BYD power cell project and the Midea cloud data center project.
This year, Guian will coordinate the project construction process in infrastructure, industry and people's livelihoods, and establish a full-life-cycle project service and supervision mechanism. In addition, capital, industrial parks, standard workshops and industrial chains will be utilized to strengthen Guian's appeal to investors.
Moreover, more open and positive talent policies will be implemented to bring in a number of talents in manufacturing and digital economy, while efforts will also be made to complete living facilities and supporting public infrastructure to facilitate the lives of talents.
