A municipal economic symposium began in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province on Jan 6. The meeting summarized the city's economic accomplishments over the last year, analyzed the current economic situation, and clarified tasks to be completed in the new year.
2022 was a hard year for the development of Guiyang and Guian New Area, as they were faced with unprecedented challenges, but achievements were still made through strenuous efforts.
Guiyang and Guian have steadfastly carried out the key requirement from the central government – to prevent and control COVID-19 outbreaks, stabilize the economy and ensure safe development, and have worked harder on the campaign to make Guiyang a stronger provincial capital.
2023 is considered a crucial year for Guiyang and Guian in achieving industrial transformation and increasing the quality of new urbanization.
The government officials were urged in the meeting to rejuvenate local State-owned enterprises and help the service private economy to thrive. They were also asked to strengthen leader-based investment promotion and optimize the business attraction layout.
The Guishangyi and Zhaoshangyi platforms (two official platforms serving investors and business people) will be further improved to create a top-of-the-line market-oriented and law-based business environment.
Guiyang will prioritize investment and consumption to increase domestic demand.
