Guizhou firm expands into international market amid pandemic

Guizhou Tyre I/E Co – based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is aggressively expanding overseas despite COVID-19, having recently sent seven international marketing teams to Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, East Africa, West Africa, Europe and Central Asia.

A subsidiary of Guizhou Tyre Co, it is in charge of the international sales of the parent group's tires and has established overseas units and offices to find the best global sales channels and create top overseas sales teams.

After 30 years of development, Guizhou Tyre Co's business now covers more than 130 countries and regions. Its overseas subsidiaries and offices follow a localization strategy and use local languages and culture to shorten the distance with clients, so as to quickly and effectively open up the markets.

In terms of product promotions, the company has launched advertisements in overseas media, which are promoting its brand image to target clients and boosting the overall brand impact.

The company has also set up a talent training mechanism in China to send people overseas. The mechanism includes a new employee training program, tutorial system, domestic and international job rotation program, middle-level position training program, in-service education program and talent cultivation projects that cooperate with various universities.

You Jie, general manager of Guizhou Tyre I/E Co, said parent group Guizhou Tyre Co aims to generate exports worth $360 million this year.
