Guiyang city and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have synergized pandemic management with social and economic development by taking effective and targeted measures to help local firms resume operations.
Guian initiated a 100-day campaign on Sept 20, in which officials from departments responsible for the new area's industry and information technology and urban development visited many enterprises and projects under construction. They guided the resumption of operations and helped enterprises overcome various obstacles.
By Sept 28, Guanshanhu district had reported 30 industrial enterprises above designated size that have successfully resumed production since the lockdown was lifted on Sept 9.
On Sept 21, all production lines of Guizhou Touchworks Optoelectronics Co were operating at full capacity. With the government's assistance, the company has applied a closed-loop production model and has prepared sleeping bags, toiletries, and meals for workers.
In addition, the government set up a nucleic acid testing site near the firm, provided vegetables for it, and coordinated with transport units to ensure the supply of raw materials.
