Cover glass project settles in Guian CBZ

A signing ceremony was held on Sept 21 to mark the agreement between Dongguan RLD Cover Glass Technology Co and the Guian Comprehensive Bonded Zone (CBZ), which is located in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The company will invest three billion yuan ($420.9 million) in the zone to establish a smart cover glass production and processing project. The project is divided into two phases, with the first one involving an investment of two billion yuan.

The project is expected to register more than 600 million yuan in output after it begins operating.

An official of the firm cited the FTZ as one of the world's largest hubs of large-scale data centers, and the firm will make full use of the zone's manufacturing platform, seize the dual-carbon opportunities, and strive to be a leader in the industry.

The zone will provide relevant services to the firm to achieve the eastern-western coordination goal – collecting R&D centers in eastern China, and establishing corresponding manufacturing bases in western China.
