Statistics show that last year, the city of Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province reported 471.1 billion yuan ($69.58 billion) in GDP, and its industrial, private and green sectors accounted for 21.4 percent, 53 percent and 47 percent of regional GDP, respectively.
The city has formulated an industrial layout featuring advanced equipment manufacturing, mid- and high-end consumer goods manufacturing, new energy, new materials, digital economy and medicine. Meanwhile, Guiyang is now home to over 18,000 industrial market players, with the average annual growth rate in the added value of industries above a designated size standing at 7.3 percent.
The growth rate of Guizhou's digital economy came in at 20.6 percent last year, ranking first in China for the seventh year in a row.
In 2007, the city brand "Cool Guiyang" was created, and Guiyang's overseas influence rose to 25th in 2021 among 100 domestic cities.
The government has been doubling down on efforts to push forward with the supply-side reform of tourism products by enriching tourists' experiences, restructuring business models, extending sightseers' travel hours, and boosting consumption.
