An optoelectronic industrial base was put into operation on June 12 in Yanlou Industrial Park, Huaxi district, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Guizhou Touchworks Optoelectronics Co invested 120 million yuan ($17.81 million) into the base, which contains six production lines of touchscreens. Three production lines were ready for use that day, with the rest to be available by the end of this year. The base is expected to reach an annual output of 500 million yuan in 2023.

Touchworks established its business in Guiyang in 2012. According to Chen Li, president of the firm, Touchworks has become a national little giant company whose products are widely applied in wearable products, smart homes, finance, healthcare, education, automobiles, mobile phones, tablet personal computers, industrial personal computers, and safety protection. It has been a supplier of many globally renowned brands, and 30 percent of its products are sold overseas.

In recent years, the company has had a compound annual revenue growth rate of over 30 percent. Last year, it reaped a total of 550 million yuan in revenue and offered 1,100 jobs.
