The Guangdong-Guizhou industrial match-up fair was held on Sept 8 in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.
The Guizhou Provincial People's Government signed seven strategic cooperation agreements and 19 project contracts with Guangdong, involving 61.88 billion yuan ($9.28 billion) and covering basic materials, modern energy, advanced equipment manufacturing, medicine, new construction materials, big data, tourism and healthcare.
Among them, six projects worth 20.22 billion yuan will be established in Guiyang.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as a juncture of domestic and global economic circulation, is now becoming a powerful driver of development in the rest of China. Guizhou has utilized its strength in policy, location, resources and ecology, and has regarded industrial transfer as an important approach to achieving frog-leaping development. Many Guangdong-based enterprises have been attracted to make investments or run businesses in Guizhou.
There have been 238 Guangdong programs signed in Guizhou this year, in which industrial programs account for 78.4 percent, followed by programs in modern services and special agriculture.
Ma Lei, head of the Guizuou Provincial Department of Commerce, said the two provinces will take "Guangdong firms + Guizhou resources", "Guangdong market + Guizhou products", "Guangdong headquarters + Guizhou bases", and "Guangdong research + Guizhou manufacturing" approaches to optimize the industrial layout of the two regions.
