Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was invited to participate in the 7th China Hospitality Forum – also known as the 2021 China Hotel Alliance Fair – on May 12 in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

The fair was held to discuss opportunities and challenges in the tourism and accommodation industry, and to resolve problems relating to how to achieve sustainable development in the post-epidemic era.

Luo Zhi, Dai Yi, and Liu Fei from the Guiyang bureau of investment promotion were selected for the Guiyang delegation. Government leaders, businesspeople, representatives from hotel-related service providers and suppliers, and mainstream journalists totaling nearly 300 in number attended the fair.

One member of the Guiyang delegation addressed the fair, introducing the industrial status of Guiyang and Guian, and the favorable conditions in this sector.

Guiyang has reportedly won the title of "the city most suitable for tourism", and has been awarded "the city with the best performance" for four consecutive years.

Committed to building itself into a hub of trade and manufacturing with international influence in West China, Guiyang is moving forward hand-in-hand with Guian New Area. At the fair, the city sought potential business partners in the tourism and accommodation sector, as it would like to join forces to facilitate the sustainability of the industry.

"I have been to Guiyang, and am pretty familiar with what is going on there in the city, and I am looking forward to watching what it will achieve in the future," said Zhang Zhimin, president of Macao Youth Travel Agency.

"Blessed by its preferential natural environment, Guiyang is a place where people are most likely to go travelling in summer. The city also has strong connections with the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and is considered a crucial part of the Belt and Road initiative, as well as the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. As far as I know, many guests at the fair are waiting to invest in Guiyang!" added Zhang.

During the fair's award ceremony, Guiyang was rated as "2020-2021 China's most popular tourism destination".
