Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, intends to welcome 900 industrial projects, with 162 billion yuan ($24.3 billion) of special funding in place – a spike of 13 percent year-on-year. Guian New Area alone will bring in 65 industrial projects, with 30 billion yuan of special funding in place.

As the provincial engine of economic performance, Guiyang must grasp opportunities in the trend of globalization and achieve high-quality development by inviting investments in a targeted way.

The city's leaders have played a significant role in business promotion. Guiyang authorities organized 212 activities outside Guizhou, attracting 632 enterprises and signing cooperation agreements for 149 projects in 2020.

A document released by Guiyang's government suggests that this year, the new businesses will center on dominant industries, including the manufacturing of electronic information, first-class equipment and mid-to-high-end consumer products.

During the first four months in 2021, the city signed eight program contracts involving an investment of 1.38 billion yuan.
