According to Guizhou province's investment promotion department, the provincial capital Guiyang has achieved great success in attracting investment from Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province.
This year, Guiyang's second investment promotion team in Shenzhen has paid 2,630 visits to companies and 574 visits to commerce associations. The team has also helped Shenzhen's companies to visit Guizhou 420 times and signed 142 agreements with a total investment of 17.4 billion yuan ($2.64 billion), ranking first among Guizhou's cities and prefectures.
By September, Guiyang's leading government officials had paid 11 visits to 33 companies in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou.
Officials from Guiyang's municipal, county and development zone levels paid 98 visits to other provinces to attract investment. They held meetings with 290 companies and signed 56 project agreements, with 11.17 billion yuan of actual funds in place.
Guiyang focused on its six emerging industries and 10 industrial chains to attract investment from East China, aiming to integrate East China's companies, markets, headquarters and R&D capabilities with Guizhou's resources, products, production bases and manufacturing ability.
Guiyang's investment promotion team organized more than 20 investment promotion events in Shenzhen to allow companies to learn more about Guiyang's investment environment. The team also tracked the progress of signed projects to accelerate their implementation.
