On Aug 12, Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tencent and Guizhou Yotta Cloud Technology Co to cooperate on digital governance, new infrastructure projects and industrial internet construction, as well as the development of intelligent business districts and industrial parks.

According to the agreement, Tencent will help Nanming to establish a multi-functional mini-program covering online education, internet medical treatment and city operations. The program will also improve the district's governance and livelihood services.

Relying on Tencent's big data and internet of things technologies, Nanming's business district will hold community shopping festivals and livesteaming events while working to boost the nighttime economy and promote unmanned retail.

Tencent will also apply the next generation of information technology in industrial parks to enhance Nanming's innovation and management abilities, as well as investment prospects.

Nanming, Tencent and Yotta Cloud will also build an industrial internet platform to increase companies' intelligent manufacturing capabilities.

Guiyang is a leader in China for digitalized city development and its China International Big Data Industry Expo is the most international and authoritative exchange platform in the big data sector. Research from the University of Electronic Science and Technology shows that Guiyang was among the top cities in China in 2019 for internet service capabilities.
