The world's largest furniture retailer IKEA Group opened its store in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, Guizhou province on Oct 24. IKEA has successively opened 28 stores in China since it opened its first store in Shanghai in 1998. IKEA's Guiyang Store is the 29th in China and the first in the province.

Located at No 2 Jinqing Avenue, Guanshanhu district, the store has a total area of more than 33,000 square meters. It provides more than 9,000 kinds of furniture and household appliances, showcasing 48 furnishing exhibition rooms for customers.

Zhang Kaihang, general manager of IKEA Guiyang Store, said that Guanshanhu district was consistent with IKEA's needs for future development. "With great potential for development, the district is gradually becoming a new political, economic, and cultural center of Guiyang. It has a fast and efficient modern transportation network system, which can better connect the surrounding provinces and cities," he added.
In recent years, Guanshanhu district has attached great importance to the optimization of its business environment. Through the implementation of a series of measures and policies, the district's business environment assessment index made great progress in 2018, with its provincial rising 30 places compared with 2017.
The improvement of its business environment has also brought more vitality to the development of Guanshanhu. Focusing on the CPC Guiyang municipal committee's target to make the city a trading hub for medium and high-end consumption, the district is actively developing its medium and high-end commercial industry, promoting the construction of major business areas.
