Guiyang holds investment promotion event in Shenzhen

Guiyang, capital city of southwest China's Guizhou Province, held an investment promotion gathering titled "2019 Guizhou Trade Fair Enters in Shenzhen & Middle and High-end Manufacturing Matchmaking Event" in Shenzhen, a coastal city in south China's Guangdong Province, on Aug 8.

The event aimed to act on the arrangements made by Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Guizhou Provincial People's Government upon the preparatory work for the opening of the 2019 China (Guizhou) Inland Opening-up Pilot Zone Investment and Trade Fair on Sept 7, further enhance the level of Guizhou's opening-up, advance the development of local middle and high-end manufacturing industry, and deepen its cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in emerging fields such as advanced equipment manufacturing, new construction materials and intelligent manufacturing.

During the gathering, Yu Xianqiang, deputy director of Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Investment Promotion, presented a brief introduction to the province's industrial development, while Tang Xinglun, vice-mayor of Guiyang, focused his introduction on the city's industrial growth and the latest developments and future of its middle and high-end manufacturing industry.

In addition, officials from the local high-tech industrial development zone, economic and technological development zone, and comprehensive free trade zone highlighted industrial layout, future development, disposal space, and favorable policies in their speeches at the gathering.

For their part, representatives from attending advanced manufacturing enterprises expressed their willingness to make investments in Guiyang.

Lin Xiaomei, deputy director of the office of Guizhou Provincial People's Government in Shenzhen, gave high recognition to the success of the investment promotion event in Shenzhen. She noted that Guiyang has been on a professional and precise track towards investment promotion and hopes that attending firms can grasp the opportunities and seek common development with the city in the future.

At last, Tang extended an invitation to all entrepreneurs regarding their potential investments in Guiyang.

The city initially formed an industrial cluster featuring big data & electronic communications, advanced equipment manufacturing, medicine, ecological and specially flavored food, clean and efficient electricity & new energy, modern chemicals, basic materials, new construction materials, and middle as well as high-end consumption manufacturing, Tang introduced, while adding that it will seek integrated development with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, give full play to its functions in industrial relocations, improve the business environment, enhance the level of its opening-up, and strive for high-quality growth.

Those in attendance of the event included officials from Guiyang Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Guiyang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Office of Guiyang Municipal People's Government in Shenzhen, and Guiyang Urban Development and Investment Co., Ltd, along with representatives from 80 manufacturing firms in Shenzhen.
