Guiyang-Gui'an and Luodian forge a path to shared prosperity

In recent years, Guiyang-Gui'an and Luodian county have prioritized the construction of a 50,000-mu (333.33 hectares) vegetable supply base. Based on the co-development of village collective economies, they have forged a model of cross-regional collaboration defined by complementary advantages and mutual benefits.

The base's development has focused on meeting vegetable demand in the urban areas of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area. Leveraging Luodian's warm and humid winter-spring climate and abundant land resources, the county has established six large-scale vegetable bases. These hubs have spurred the cultivation of an additional 20,000 mu of surrounding farmland and fostered 31 vegetable-operating entities.

Guiyang-Gui'an has also invested heavily in infrastructure and technical support. This includes the installation of water pipelines, steel-frame greenhouses, and integrated water-fertilizer systems. Drawing on the expertise of provincial and prefectural research institutes, alongside the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, technical service teams provide one-on-one guidance to ensure high-quality, high-yield harvests.

In 2025, the 50,000-mu Luodian supply base delivered 94,600 metric tons of fresh produce, including melons, beans, and solanaceous fruits, to Guiyang-Gui'an. This effort has enabled 17,800 households to earn a living through vegetable farming, with an average household income exceeding 19,000 yuan ($2,757.40).

Looking ahead, Guiyang-Guian views deep processing of agricultural products, the expansion of sales channels, and the growth of village collective economies as vital extensions of this industrial partnership. Throughout the year, Guiyang-Guian will assist in the sale of Luodian's high-quality fruits and vegetables, ensuring that the county's fresh produce and specialty goods reach thousands of households in Guiyang-Gui'an.
