Xiaolanshan in Guiyang city's Guanshanhu district covers 1,713.19 hectares and connects to seven surrounding villages. With forest coverage exceeding 70 percent and unique ecological advantages, it once struggled due to ecological constraints and a single-industry structure.
Relying on Guiyang's locational advantages and industrial foundation as "China's Data Valley," the Xiaolanshan Digital Cultural Industry Ecological Village project was launched in 2022. Through micro-renovations and targeted enhancements, the project has revitalized idle resources, preserved the village's original appearance and rural fabric, and achieved an organic unity between ecological protection and industrial development.
Xiaolanshan has also established a four-party collaboration mechanism involving government, private enterprises, State-owned enterprises, and villages, which has attracted nearly 50 digital enterprises to cluster.
The project provides digital enterprises with green, stable, and low-cost computing power, effectively reducing operational costs and enabling leading industries such as audio-visual, digital technology, and artificial intelligence to take root and grow rapidly in rural settings.
Through accommodation leasing, local employment, skills training, and e-commerce support, Xiaolanshan ensures that local villages truly become participants in and beneficiaries of rural vitalization.
Xiaolanshan's cumulative revenue exceeded 800 million yuan ($116.1 million) by the end of 2025. driving over 80 villagers into employment and providing more than 300 temporary jobs, helping transform the village into a prosperous one.
