Located along the banks of the Liuguang River, Longwo village in Liuguang town, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, enjoys a subtropical monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of 15.5 C.

This favorable climate, combined with the loose, fertile soil and excellent irrigation along the riverbanks, provides the perfect natural conditions for cultivating high-quality, crisp, and tender choy sum.

Relying on these natural advantages, Longwo has prioritized choy sum cultivation as a key pillar of its specialized agriculture. By revitalizing idle farmland after the autumn grain harvest and promoting off-season planting, the village has transformed idle winter fields into productive income-generating fields.

To ensure the crop is both high-yielding and easy to transport, the local government has built industrial access roads and installed comprehensive irrigation systems. The Party committee and local government have facilitated connections between the fields and markets in local and neighboring counties. By attracting wholesalers to purchase directly on-site, they have achieved a seamless field-to-market transition, giving farmers greater peace of mind.

Today, the choy sum industry stands as a cornerstone of local rural vitalization. Moving forward, Longwo will continue to provide dedicated support services while seeking additional project funding to further enhance infrastructure. The goal is to ensure villagers can farm with even greater confidence and enthusiasm.
