The first batch of wine cap mushrooms has sprouted at a 70-mu (4.67 hectares) cultivation base in Miping township, Kaiyang county, Guiyang, marking a significant breakthrough for the township's specialized mushroom project.

Through rural vitalization transition funds, the project has introduced this rare mushroom variety, which is highly recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This variety was selected for its ability to adapt to the local climate, addressing the low efficiency of traditional farming.

After 90 days of meticulous management, this initial harvest has demonstrated the project's significant potential, with estimates that, during peak production, yield per mu will exceed 3,000 kilograms, for a total projected output of 210,000 kg.

Beyond its nutritional value, the project creates local jobs during cultivation and harvesting, benefiting both village collectives and individual households.

By utilizing the wine cap mushroom industry, the township aims to strengthen local specialty brands, support wealth creation, and advance rural vitalization, combining ecological beauty and industrial prosperity.
