Guiyang and Gui'an advance rural beautification and livability

In recent years, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have prioritized rural management as the cornerstone for improving living environments and building idyllic, vibrant villages.

These efforts, focused on ecological, village, industrial, lifestyle, and cultural beauty, have enhanced rural appeal and improved residents' sense of well-being.

Integrating agriculture, culture, and tourism is a key strategy. For instance, Xiufu village in Xiuwen county has transformed its riverside based on visitor feedback. A 5-kilometer fitness trail now replaces overgrown banks, offering spaces for relaxation and exercise.

With 2,980 mu (198.67 hectares) of farmland and 3,800 mu of forests and orchards, the village's scenic charm, enhanced environment, and quality services have made it a top summer retreat destination.

In Guanshanhu district, rural toilet improvements have progressed. The rollout of the 3.0 treatment model in Wengjing village combines septic tanks and land infiltration systems to integrate blackwater and greywater management, ensuring waste treatment is eco-friendly and resource-efficient. This toilet revolution has motivated residents to actively participate, significantly enhancing the rural environment.

Guiyang and Gui'an have also renovated 1,344 rural homes and 11,317 guest rooms this year, providing 19,555 beds for tourists. Clear data and strict management have made rural homes safe, attractive, and livable, further fostering rural vitalization.
