Agricultural product processing industry advances rural vitalization

Since the beginning of this year, Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area have vigorously developed the agricultural product processing industry, promoting its green and smart transformation.

This has effectively increased the value of agricultural products, providing strong support for rural vitalization.

The rice processing workshop of Youfeng Intelligent Service Co in Zhifang village, Jiuzhuang town, Xifeng county, has been bustling. Thanks to the newly introduced automated processing equipment this year, golden rice grains are transformed into crystal-clear, plump rice in less than a minute through over twenty meticulous processing steps.

Guiyang and Gui'an have provided fiscal support and financial services to introduce advanced equipment for grain product processing to family farms, professional cooperatives, and small and micro-enterprises. This initiative aims to provide solid guarantees for food security by developing grain product processing at the source.

In addition to grain processing, vegetable processing is also thriving. In the pepper processing workshop in Gaozhai township of Kaiyang county, bright red peppers undergo automated production processes such as feeding, air selection, cleaning, water filtration, chopping, and mixing with additives, all contributing to efficient automated production.

Guiyang and Gui'an have 6,475 professional agricultural cooperatives and family farms, 334 rice processing enterprises, and an estimated grain planting area of 1.41 million mu (94,000 hectares).

They also boast 1,123 agricultural product processing enterprises or cooperatives with annual revenues exceeding 2 million yuan and 101 ecological specialty food enterprises.

These enterprises form a relatively complete industry chain that covers grains, oilseeds, vegetables, fruits, meats, tea, aquatic products, eggs, dairy products, Chinese medicinal materials, and timber processing.
