In recent years, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province, have focused on key tasks such as rural development, rural construction, and rural governance, effectively promoting rural vitalization.
In the first half of this year, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery in Guiyang reached 14.26 billion yuan ($2.01 billion), up by 0.63 percentage points from the same period last year. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 12,072 yuan, a 7.1-percent increase.
In 2024, Guiyang has promoted the creation of 30,200 mu (2013.33 hectares) of demonstration responsibility fields in five areas: superior seeds, mechanization, production organization, industrial chain development, and income enhancement.
Meanwhile, 14 key varieties of grain and oil crops have been released, projects for 79,000 mu of high-standard farmland have started construction, and 1,000 agricultural technicians have been deployed to guide production, aiming to plant 1.41 million mu of grains with a total yield of over 447,800 metric tons.

This year, Guiyang and Gui'an have created four municipal agricultural characteristic towns and three nationally recognized new agricultural products. The total output value of the eco-specialty food industries has reached 12.89 billion yuan.
In the first three quarters, the average net income of poverty-alleviated individuals in Guiyang was 15,783.77 yuan, an 8.71-percent increase, while the figure for relocated poverty-alleviated individuals saw a 10.63-percent increase to 14,902.72 yuan.
Moving forward, Guiyang and Gui'an will provide on-the-ground support, strategic guidance, and practical solutions to drive industrial development and advance rural vitalization.
