In recent years, the application of big data technology in agricultural scenarios in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been gradually enriched, with the development and application of a batch of digital and intelligent products greatly promoting the development of digital + agriculture.
This has created new opportunities for modernizing agriculture and effectively driving rural vitalization.
At the Luojiaqiao high-standard vegetable supply base in Qingzhen Park, Guiyang, real-time data on various parameters inside the vegetable greenhouses is displayed on a screen above the central aisle. Under the large screen, various plump chili peppers are growing well.
The production manager, Tian Jiangwei, mentioned that not only temperature, humidity, and light are monitored, but even trace elements in the soil are checked. If conditions are suitable, the corresponding fertilizers are then proportioned to ensure optimal growth.
Established in 2019, the Luojiaqiao base currently has 263 greenhouses. Fifteen of these are used for experimental planting and data collection; the rest are used to promote the cultivation of supply-guaranteed vegetables.
The base follows a year-round cultivation model of vegetables and fungi, planting chili peppers, tomatoes, morel mushrooms, and lettuce. Its annual production is nearly 5,000 metric tons of high-quality ecological vegetables.
Guiyang has completed the system mapping of the Guizhou vegetable network, covering 197,900 mu (13,193 hectares) of supply-guaranteed vegetable bases and integrating data on production bases, operating entities, and product traceability. It also promotes digitalization and smart application demonstration of the entire industry chain to enhance the digital management level of vegetable production.
Guiyang and Gui'an will continue to promote the integrated application of modern information technologies, such as the agricultural internet of things, big data, and remote sensing throughout the agricultural industry chain. This will enhance the intelligence of agricultural production, networked operation, data management, and online services.
