In the first half of 2024, the agricultural and rural socio-economic situation in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area remained stable.
During the period, subsidies totaling 193 million yuan ($26.89 million) were secured for farmland construction from both the central and provincial levels. Progress was made on 23 seed industry projects, including the establishment of 866.67-hectare corn seed base and the introduction of 14 key grain and oil varieties.
The city and new area were home to 96 agricultural machinery service organizations, and significant areas were devoted to rapeseed, potatoes, wheat, corn, rice, and soybeans.
Guiyang saw an 8.71-percent year-on-year increase in the average net income of poverty-alleviated individuals, while Gui'an experienced a 9.02-percent increase.
Collaborative assistance efforts within the province lead to 87.29 million yuan being invested in 104 projects, resulting in the establishment of two direct supply bases and a total agricultural revenue of 27.19 million yuan.
Additionally, five new green food certifications were awarded, with products like Kaiyang green tea and Qingzhen ephedra chicken gaining national recognition.
Two national agricultural leading enterprises were recognized, alongside 30 agricultural businesses designated as key players in industrialization. Guiyang and Gui'an also fostered 336 rural craftsmen and nominated 49 master craftsmen for provincial recognition.
Meanwhile, Xifeng and Xiuwen counties secured a World Bank loan for green agriculture and rural vitalization projects, totaling 18.24 million euros ($19.95 million).
