Guiyang and Gui'an have introduced the first local standard in the province for the construction and management of rural sewer systems and flush toilets.
Over 86,000 rural households have upgraded their toilets, achieving a 93-percent coverage rate of hygienic toilets in rural areas, with public toilets in administrative villages achieving full coverage.
In addressing wastewater treatment, a tailored approach has been adopted, promoting both decentralized and centralized treatment models.
This effort has seen the completion of 29 rural water supply projects, 32 projects to enhance the treatment of town sewage, 245 projects for rural sewage treatment in administrative villages, and the remediation of 30 polluted water bodies.
In addition, over 15,000 waste collection and transportation points have been established in rural areas, ensuring that waste collection systems cover all natural villages with over 30 households.
Moving forward, Guiyang and Gui'an plan to further promote rural vitalization in various ays, building upon their past successes.
