By the end of last year, the total rural road mileage in Southwest China's Guizhou province, had exceeded 185,000 kilometers, with a paved road rate of 96.13 percent, as revealed at a news conference recently held by the province.

Guizhou became the first province in western China to achieve the comprehensive paving of roads in administrative villages and natural villages with 30 or more households.

In recent years, Guizhou has focused on the coordinated development of rural road construction, management, maintenance, and operation, effectively addressing the transportation challenges faced by rural residents.

With a total investment of 159.3 billion yuan ($21.93 billion) in infrastructure construction, Guizhou has built or renovated 92,000 km of rural roads, including 78,700 km of fully paved roads, significantly improving rural road accessibility and coverage.

To enhance operational efficiency, Guizhou has actively promoted the integration of rural passenger transport and logistics, achieving full coverage of passenger transport and express delivery services in administrative villages.

By introducing rural passenger transport routes, urban-rural bus lines, tourism shuttle services, and customized passenger transport services, the diverse travel needs of the population have been effectively met.

Furthermore, the development of the "road +" model has facilitated the deep integration of rural roads with industries and tourism, bringing significant economic and social benefits to rural areas.
