Guizhou Anguang International Supply Chain Co is planting chili peppers in Louang Namtha Province, Laos. The firm is based in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, and is the first enterprise in the new area to engage in chili pepper cultivation overseas.

Anguang International is an international supply chain company primarily focused on agricultural products. It leverages the premium chili resources of Guizhou to foster international economic and technological cooperation. The company set up operations in the Gui'an Comprehensive Bonded Zone in July 2023.

On Nov 7, 2023, Anguang International signed an agreement with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos' Louang Namtha Province. According to the agreement, the department provided four hectares of land free of charge, while Anguang International supplied the necessary planting management technologies and equipment and took responsibility for the procurement and sale of agricultural products. Together, they established a high-quality chili pepper cultivation demonstration base.

After five months of effort, 12 varieties of chili pepper from Guizhou were successfully planted in Laos. The first batch of chili peppers began being harvested on May 26. The demonstration base is expected to produce 270,000 metric tons of high-quality fresh chili peppers valued at 1.08 billion yuan ($152.28 million) annually. This initiative is expected to significantly boost the agricultural economy and improve the livelihoods of people in Louang Namtha Province.
