As revealed at a promotion conference on an initiative calling for enterprises to provide assistance to villages in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, a total of 571 private enterprises and business associations have taken part in the initiative since its official launch in September 2021, investing 650 million yuan ($91.65 million) in 53 rural vitalization projects and making 34.21 million yuan in donations.
These enterprises and business associations also implemented 136 social welfare projects involving 192 villages, achieving outstanding economic and social results.
Since last year, corporate participants of the initiative have explored multiple work mechanisms with farmers and rural communities to achieve mutual benefits. They have also arranged various types of training, especially for the surplus rural labor force, and broadened sales channels for local agricultural products.
In addition, they have launched charity activities to care for the elderly and disabled and to educate children.
At the promotion conference, 49 private enterprises and business associations signed collaboration agreements with some villages, including Shijia village in Gui'an and Ganzi village in Xifeng county, Guiyang.
