On May 10-11, a black fungus cultivation training session was held in Xifeng county of Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The training, organized by the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, combines theoretical explanations and on-site demonstrations. It aims to nurture more practical talents for the black fungus industry.

As the second largest fungus type produced through manual cultivation in China, black fungus output is surging year by year thanks to the optimized planting techniques and increasing cultivation scales.
China is the largest black fungus producer in the world. Thanks to its unique taste, rich nutrition, and popularity among consumers, the market demand for black fungus is continuing to rise.
By 2023, the black fungi produced in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area generated more than 14 million yuan ($1.97 million) collectively, while the industry expanded and now employs over 30,000 locals.
