Rural vitalization hinges on talent. During the second National Rural Vitalization Vocational Skills Competition, which was held recently in Guiyang, rural artisans showcased their skills, exhibiting 27 exquisite handicrafts.
At the Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center, in the event's Guiyang and Gui'an Rural Artisan Skills Exhibition Area, skilled artisans presented handicrafts such as stone carvings, egg carvings, printing and dyeing products, Miao embroidery, ceramics, and more. Spectators from all over the country gathered to admire the works and praised the exquisite craftsmanship displayed.

In recent years, Guiyang and Gui'an have been focusing on the task of cultivating 100,000 practical talents in rural areas by 2025. So far, they have cultivated over 78,000 practical talents in rural areas, identified 329 rural artisans at the municipal level or above, and recommended 39 individuals as national or provincial-level master teachers in the respective rural art forms.
"In the next steps, Guiyang and Gui'an will continuously establish and improve mechanisms for cultivating rural artisans around talent attraction, cultivation, utilization, and retention. We will nurture a group of rural artisans to inject new vitality into Guiyang and Gui'an," said Ma Xiao, head of the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs.
