High-quality farmland construction a focus during spring plowing season

During the spring plowing period, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area are accelerating the construction of high-quality farmlands. Over the last year, the two places have completed 34 such projects, involving a total construction area of 6,333.33 hectares. So far, the main structure work of all of these projects has been completed, and they will be handed over this month.

A leading group for the high-quality farmland projects has been established, thanks to joint efforts from departments of agriculture and rural affairs, finance, development and reforms, natural resources and water affairs. The projects focus on field consolidation, irrigation and drainage, field roads, ecological environment protection, soil fertility improvement, and power distribution.

A work supervision team for these projects has been created to concentrate on planning and design, engineering quality, fund management, and project acceptance. This team is responsible for urging design units to carry out on-site surveys at each project site, soliciting the opinions of farmers, and urging construction units to strictly follow construction plans in order to ensure the timely completion of tasks.

Village economic organizations are encouraged to participate in the construction of high-standard farmland projects, give full play to the advantages of State-owned enterprises in talent, technology, and capital, and adopt a "local government + platform company" construction model.
