Guiyang holds spring farming promotion meeting

The Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, located in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a work meeting on March 1, releasing its overall plan for this year's spring farming promotion work.

It was urged in the work session that the government official accountability mechanism and relevant work timetables should be formed to ensure the work efficiency. Crop planting plans, including which crop varieties to grow, should be made based on the actual conditions of each region.

Attention should be paid to the storage and distribution of agricultural materials, such as seeds, fertilizers, agricultural film, and pesticides, in order to ensure a sufficient agricultural material supply.

The disease and pest prevention and control protocols should be enhanced, and more practical agricultural technique training sessions will be organized.

Staff members were also encouraged to enhance weather forecasting, and prepare for disastrous climates, so as to minimize the impact on crops.
