On Jan 21, in response to the rainy and snowy weather caused by low temperatures, the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs formulated a series of measures to ensure an adequate food supply for Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.
Work teams were dispatched in a timely manner to guide production bases and enterprises through disaster prevention and reduction protocols. Specific measures were implemented for the protection against cold and freezing weather for the vegetable, animal husbandry, and field crop sectors. The goal is to ensure the supply of 500,000 metric tons of local vegetables from December of last year to February of this year.
Efforts were made to ensure smooth transportation channels for market distribution. Market operation monitoring and early warning systems were also strengthened, with an emphasis on monitoring food prices and enhanced market supervision.
