In 2021, the city of Guiyang and Guian New Area have established 9,253.34 hectares of high-quality farmland and 3,333.33 hectares of vegetable plantations, with the proportion of industrial crops to total crops exceeding 80 percent. The comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting in Guiyang has reached 49.65 percent.
Statistics show that last year, Guiyang and Guian New Area achieved 32.8 billion yuan ($4.89 billion) in agricultural output, up 9.3 percent and 0.1 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
The city has also cultivated 26,399 family farms, with 66 being provincial demonstration farms.
In addition, the government has collected 3.27 million yuan in funds to assist 11 rural cooperatives, the number of which has reached 2,355 now. In addition, three enterprises have been ratified as nationally and municipally leading agricultural firms.
