A work symposium was held on Dec 27 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, to stabilize food supply this winter and spring next year.
Officials of the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, Guiyang bureau of commerce, and other municipal departments delivered reports on food retail sales, commodity circulation, food storage, and food quality control.
The government officials were urged to strengthen management of 28,666.67 hectares of vegetables and 153 key pig farms. The two major logistics parks in Guiyang are expected to play significant role in food supply.
Commercial departments were advised to enhance monitoring on pandemic prevention and control work, prices, types and amount of food in first-level wholesale markets, farm produce markets and discount fresh produce markets.
