The second list of national rural governance demonstration towns and villages was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Oct 30. A total of 100 towns and 994 villages made the list, including Chuandong village in Kaiyang county, Damu village in Xiuwen county, and Dahong village in Xifeng county. All three counties are located in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The list of demonstration towns and villages was first applied for by the regional government, before being analyzed and approved by the central government. Such towns and villages are considered outstanding examples of rural governance, as they have achieved impressive results in the construction of rural civilization, legal systems and security.
Through measures such as launching a sharing governance model, fostering rural culture, improving major industries, and improving people's living environment, Chuandong village has become a pioneer in the development of a collective economy in Kaiyang county, and has been selected among Guiyang's top 100 most beautiful villages.
In addition, Damu village was honored as a national special ethnic minority village back in 2019 for its tremendous progress in Party construction work and rural tourism.
Dahong village, meanwhile, has been dedicated to agricultural structural adjustment involving a total of more than 193.33 hectares of land.
