The 2021 Eco Forum Global Guiyang will be held on July 12-13 in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – and the event will feature a number of themed seminars discussing environmental protection.

One, focusing on the integration of the forest industry and health care, will be held the day before, on July 11. Plans are for it to release a memorandum on Guiyang's development of forest-related tourism, sports and health care, among other topics.

Eco Forum Global Guiyang will release new construction standards for towns and homestays for forest health care and a report on the value of Guizhou's forest ecosystem in 2020.

It will unveil a number of new Guizhou forest and health care-related institutions, as well as launch an online finance platform co-established by Guizhou's forestry department and the China Construction Bank.

A "rural revitalization and ecological civilization" seminar will invite domestic and international experts to discuss integrated development approaches for rural revitalization and ecological civilization and the broader transition of society to a green lifestyle, among other things.

It will witness the launch of two ecological civilization research centers and the release of new books on ecological civilization theories.

Another themed seminar – on China's ecological civilization pilot area construction in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) – will discuss realizing zero carbon emissions through forest carbon trading.

Eco Forum Global Guiyang will also release technical standards on accounting Guizhou's gross ecosystem product or GEP, GEP audit reports on five pilot cities and counties – a proposal for hitting peak carbon dioxide emissions and achieving carbon neutrality – and a book on Guizhou's experience of developing an ecological civilization.
