A Guiyang vegetable planting skills promotion station sent its staff members to offer on-site guidance to two vegetable plantations in Wudang district on June 1.
Professionals carried out research on new species of vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. They also spoke with vegetable growers about the preservation and marketing of special local vegetable species.
In a vegetable base in Wudang district's Guding village, agricultural technicians provided villagers with targeted assistance on how to cure diseases commonly seen on potatoes, and taught villagers what to do to get plants to bear more flowers and fruit.
In addition, systematic training programs have been launched to inform villagers of techniques involved in pest control and the fertilization of eggplants, peppers and cucumbers.
