The Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs has appointed planting experts to immediately instruct villagers whose kiwi plantations were hit hard by a sudden hailstorm in Guiyang's Xiuwen county on May 9.

In response to the disaster, the bureau's authorities released a guidebook about the technical approaches to protecting and managing kiwi fruit trees. They have required that it should be delivered to all fruit growers of Xiuwen county.

Planting professionals have instructed villagers to clean the orchard, trim the fruit trees and eradicate the weeds in a scientific way. Villagers have also been reminded to install hail nets and buy insurance against natural disasters, if possible, to minimize their damages.
