Guiyangbei Railway Station, Guizhou's largest passenger station, reflects the province's transformation from a hinterland in Southwest China into one of the country's top 10 high-speed rail hubs, serving multiple high-speed rail lines, including the Guiyang-Guangzhou, Shanghai-Kunming, and Guiyang-Kaiyang lines.

Opened on Dec 26, 2014, Guiyangbei covers 255,000 square meters, with 15 platforms and 32 arrival-departure tracks. The station draws its design inspiration from Guizhou's traditional architecture, embodying local cultural heritage with distinctive regional features.
Over 12 years, the station has achieved a qualitative leap in transport capacity. In its early days, only around 10 pairs of trains ran daily, while it now handles nearly 500 trains each day. During peak passenger periods, a train departs roughly every two minutes. Its single-day passenger departure record stands at nearly 190,000, almost 60 times the figure at opening.
The station is a seamless, multi-level transport hub integrating high-speed rail, metro, taxis, and ride-hailing services, and is served by 32 bus routes covering extensive areas, with direct metro transfers and improving supporting facilities, making it a national-level comprehensive transport hub radiating across Southwest China.

Through the high-speed rail network connecting all prefecture-level cities in Guizhou, Guiyang has built a high-speed rail transport circle that enables one-hour commutes within the province, three-hour access to neighboring regions, and eight-hour connectivity to major cities nationwide, with direct high-speed rail services now reaching more than 150 key cities across China.
