The three stations recorded a total of 1.2 million departures, a year-on-year increase of 31 percent. Specifically, Guiyangbei Railway Station handled 843,000 departures, Guiyangdong Railway Station 166,000, and Guiyang Railway Station 192,000. Guiyangbei saw 156,700 departures on April 4, setting a new record for daily passenger volume since the station opened in 2014.

The three stations registered a total of 1.17 million arrivals, a record high for the same period and up 34.3 percent year-on-year. Most passengers came from neighboring provinces and cities, including Sichuan, Chongqing, and Hunan, with some also traveling from central and eastern China. Among them, Guiyangbei saw 819,000 arrivals, Guiyangdong saw 171,000, and Guiyang saw 187,000.

During the holiday, student travel, family visits, and spring outings overlapped, leading to a sharp increase in medium and short-distance travel as well as parent-child trips, resulting in a surge in passenger flow.

In response to the heavy passenger traffic, Guiyang Railway adopted targeted measures based on big data. A total of 109 additional trains were arranged, 249 multi-unit trains were operated, and 18 night trains were added.

Special tourist trains from Guiyangbei to Libo and other destinations were also launched, effectively diverting peak-hour passengers and enhancing transport capacity.
