Guiyang Public Transport Co improves operational efficiency

Guiyang Public Transport Co's careful arrangements and scientific scheduling ensured safe and smooth travel for citizens and tourists during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb 15 to 23.

Both passenger volume and operational efficiency during the holiday increased compared with the same period last year, with the number of vehicles dispatched on Feb 23, the peak return day, setting a new record for single-day capacity in the past three years.

To cope with the peak travel period, the company analyzed passenger flow characteristics and strengthened transport capacity support at key stations and popular scenic spots.

Twenty emergency transport vehicles were reserved at major hub stations, including Guiyang Railway Station, Guiyangbei Railway Station, and Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport. A special direct line from Guiyangbei Railway Station to Beijing Road was launched to address insufficient taxi capacity at night, operating a total of 19 trips and serving 1,217 passengers during the holiday.

Three night-time shuttle lines were put into operation, running from 11 pm to 5 am. By Feb 23, these lines had operated 19 trips and transported more than 1,000 passengers.

The company operated a total of 229 bus lines during the holiday, an increase of 4 from last year, and the average daily transport capacity deployed was 1,328 vehicles, up by 22 vehicles. The average daily number of trips was 6,638, growing by 689 trips year-on-year, while the average daily passenger volume was 316,400, up by 38,000.

For the upcoming flower-viewing season, Guiyang Public Transport Co will launch special flower-viewing tourist routes, with a focus on providing special bus services for the Gui'an Cherry Blossom Garden in March. Preliminary preparations such as route design, transport capacity allocation, and driver training are now underway to ensure the routes are put into operation before the blooming season.
