A team of officials led by Tang Xinglun, director of the administrative committee of the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ), on Aug 28 visited the Changyue special purpose vehicle industrial base in the zone -- in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- according to GETDZ officials.

They learned about the latest progress in the construction of the industrial base from its project leader.

Officials said they gained an in-depth understanding of its management, business operations and the development of related industries.

The new industrial base mainly involves technical services related to new energy vehicles, including the provision of modifications technology and research and development services.

GETDZ officials said the services are of great significance for the formation of the main industrial structure in the development zone.

After it was launched in May this year, the investor built a modification production line for special-purpose vehicles, covering the process of machining, blanking and forming, welding, painting and final assembly.

The investor also brought in a management and technical team from the Changyue Group, as well as special vehicle series products, logistics vehicle series products, the brand of Changyue and its industrial chain resources.

The GETDZ's Tang stressed that the development of the automobile industry had entered a new era.

He said it was necessary to have a clear understanding of the current situation and keep up with general international trends in its development.

Tang also added that GETDZ should closely follow national and regional development strategies, to promote the development of the automobile industry and do it in a practical and sustainable way.
