A signing ceremony for a key agreement between the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) and Guangzhou Changyue Investment Co Ltd was held on May 11 in the GETDZ -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- marking the start of the further development of the zone's automotive industry.

Under the agreement, the company will focus on the construction of production lines for special vehicles.

This will include four production lines for mechanical processing and a blanking molding line, welding line, coating line and general assembly line.

After the completion of the first phase of the project, it will have an annual production capacity of 1,800 special vehicles.

At the signing ceremony, Tang Xinglun, director of the zone's management committee, welcomed and thanked the Changyue Investment Co executives for their input on the project.

He said that the zone had long had the idea of developing its auto industry and the GETDZ should seize the opportunity and create more jobs and products, amid the new round of auto industry development.

Tang said that at the same time, in the long run, the zone should build a mid-tier demonstration production line and continue to develop new support products and products with core competitiveness.

According to zone officials, the project will bring in the strong management and technical team of Changyue group.

It will also bring in its special vehicle series products, logistics vehicle series products and Changyue's supply chain resources. Officials said this will make the special vehicle industry bigger and stronger and form the foundations of the Changyue special vehicle industrial base in the zone.
